Brown and Lane Collection
Budget
This contains Valdosta State University's Budgetary Information. It contains the Budgets for VSU as well as the Financial Reports dating from 1976 to present day. It also contains the Educational and General Budget for VSC for the year 1966 and 1972 as well as Financial Tables for Georgia States Woman's College from 1928.
Building and Equipment Maintenance
This collection relates to buildings on campus that have been demolished or altered. Explanations of why these things were done, where and some photographs are included.
Business Administration
Business and Finance
Contains Valdosta State's General and Education Budget 1966, and Financial Reports from 1928 and 2007. The name has since been changed to the Finance & Administration Department.
Byrd Papers
Dr. Melanie Byrd is a professor of history at Valdosta State University. She regularly collaborates with the VSU Archives and Special Collections to allow her students extra credit in exchange for volunteering in the Archives. Her collection includes information on this program, as well as papers about two of her classes: Infectious Diseases in History, and the History of Food.
Calendar of Events - Reflections
This collection contains Valdosta State's Calendar of Events from 1970-1992. Also included is a magazine reflecting change at Valdosta State from 1966-1976 .
Campus Activities Board
The Campus Activities Board is an arm of the Student Life Office with the expressed purpose of providing entertainment, recreation, and educational programs for the University student body. This collection contains C.A.B. Campus Highlights from 1977-1999, a quarterly newsletter announcing upcoming events. Also included are C.A.B. 1992 meeting minutes and attendance, as well as 1987-1997 event flyers and contract agreements for performances.
Campus Building Plans
Contains drawings, plans, and blueprints for Valdosta State Campus. Many are proposals that were never carried out or were altered in some way.
Campus Canopy/Spectator
The Campus Canopy was the student newspaper which began in 1934 at the Georgia State Womens College and continued at Valdosta State College in 1950. In 1970, the paper was renamed The Spectator, as it is known today.
Campus Capsule
Campus Capsule was issued by the Valdosta State College Campus Relations Office as a weekly news-sheet. It contained brief news-items about things happening at the college. These could involve individual employee announcements such as a new employee being hired or a professor attending a conference. They also involved campus-wide events, and inter-departmental news such as committee meetings. This collection contains newsletters from 1966-1989.
Campus Committee Reports
Space Allocation Committee Report presented to Dr. Hugh C. Bailey 1989 for Valdosta State College. Contains statistical data for space used and needed for all departments including recommendations by the committee on what to do with the information provided.
Campus Communications Board
The Communications Board serves as a liaison between the campus media and the administration, the faculty, staff, and students of Valdosta State University. The "Comm Board" also serves as the highest-level policy and review board for the general operation of campus communications at VSU.
